Wildlife in Africa
Standing 40 cm high and with a weight less than 6 kg, the suni antelope is slightly larger than the dik-dik antelope.
These shy antelopes are active at night and inhabits south-east Africa from Kenya to Zimbabwe and Mozambique.
Tsavo national park and the Masai Mara hosts suni antelopes and so does the Kruger national park in South Africa.

The spotted hyena is the largest of the three hyena species and is known for its "laughing".
Spotted hyenas live in groups and are both hunters and scavengers.
They are native to sub-saharan Africa and can be seen in many reserves like the South Luangwa national park in Zambia and Chobe national park in Botswana.

The waterbuck antelope inhabits savannahs and grasslands near water.
It will take refuge in the water if threatened by predators.
The Defassa waterbuck lives in Gabon, Angola, Congo and Zambia (Kafue national park),while common waterbuck is common in eastern and southern Africa in parks like The Masai Mara and Kruger.

The serval is a shy, nocturnal cat found on the savannahs of Africa.
With a shoulder height of about 55 cm and a weight of between 15 to 25 kg (female/male) it is considered a medium sized cat.
Kafue national park in Zambia, Hwange national park in Zimbabwe and Chobe national park in Botswana all host servals.

The eland may reach a weight of 900 kg (bulls) and is Africas largest antelope. It prefer miombo woodland, savannah and grassland.
Eland can be seen in many game reserves in South Africa, in Lower Zambezi,
South Luangwa and Kafue national parks in Zambia and in Tsavo national park Kenya.

There are 8 species of vultures in Africa. These are scavenging birds and do a great job in removing remains of dead animals.
Etosha national park in Namibia hosts 6 species of vultures.

Malawi is a landlocked country located south-east in Africa and was previously known as Nyasaland. It is speparated from Mozambique by Lake Malawi which also is called Lake Nyasa and is the third largest lake in Africa.
Lake Malawi is part of The Great Rift Valley of eastern Africa, which runs through most of Malawi.
