Wildlife in Africa
The Cape buffalo is regarded as a very dangerous animal and is one of Africas big five.
It is not very choosy about the areas where it live as long as there is water available, thus, it has a widespread distribution throughout Africa.

The african wild ass inhabits arid areas in nort-eastern Africa. Earlier, the african wild ass was found across northern Africa, but today only scattered populations are left in north-eastern Africa.
Wild asses are well suited to life in dry areas as they are able to retrieve much of the needed water from their food.

The beautiful lowland Bongo is among the largest of african forest antelopes. Sadly its numbers are very reduced and the antelope is now rarely observed.
The mountain Bongo is even more rare and only found in a remote area of Kenya.

The Kalahari desert is the home of the brown Hyena as are other dry areas in southern Africa.
These shy creatures are scavengers and are able to detect a carcasse from a long distance.

A black mamba can reach the length of 4,5 m and is the largest venomous snake in Africa.
This snake lives in savannahs, bushlands and woodlands throughout Africa.
