The middle and the lower Zambezi
Downstreams from the Victoria Falls the Zambezi river is often referred to as the middle Zambezi (Victoria Falls to Lake Chora Bassa in Mozambique) and beyond Lake Chora Bassa as the lower Zambezi. Both sides of the river holds national parks, conservancy areas or safari areas and is considered as a birder's paradise.

Lower Zambezi National Park |
Lower Zambezi national park is situated on the northern bank of the Zambezi river, 150 km downstreams from the Kariba dam. The park itself covers quite an large area, but together with the game reserves Luano, Chiawa and Rufunsa that buffers the park on each side (14453 sq km), and Mana Pools in Zimbabwe, this area forms a very large wildlife sactuary. Wildlife is abundant with a great variety of animals and birds.

Bordering Lower Zambezi National Park in the south, Luano GMA is situated in the wild and rocky Luano valley. Lusemfwa, Lukusashi and Mkushi river are the major rivers here. Luano valley is an extension of the great rift walley system of east and central Africa.
Greater Kudu and Sable lives in the wilderness of Luano, along with leopard, lion and other species.
