The snouted cobra (Naja annulifera) is a venomous snake that can reach a length of 2,5 m.
It inhabits semi deserts and savannahs.
This nocturnal snake has a reputation of not beeing aggressive.
However, the venom is deadly to humans. So, keep your distance!

The African spurred tortoise may exceed 100 kg in weight and is the largest tortoise in mainland Africa.

The Nyika Plateau is a montane area at an altitude of about 2000 m that rises above the north-eastern extremity of the Luangwa Valley. Nyika is known for the rare red duiker.
East in Zambia lies Luangwa Valley, a remote wilderness known for its high consentration of African game and birdlife. Situated as it is at the end of the Great Rift Valley of east Africa, escarpments limits the valley to the vest and to the east. The Luangwa river flows through Luangwa Valley and eventually joins the Zambezi river.
The valley is the site of four national parks, namely the South Luangwa, the North Luangwa, Luambe and Lukusuzi National Park.

Lukusuzi National Park |
Lukusuzi is situated on the eastern escarpment of the Luangwa Valley, but is a rather unknown park. Few tourists have ever visited Lukusuzi and there are currently no camps there. The wilderness of lukusuzi is said to have populations of wild dogs, which is an endangered specie.

North Luangwa National Park |
The North Luangwa National Park is a remote and untouched wilderness, some say an opportunity to experience Africa as it originally was. Mwaleshi River is one of the rivers that flows through the park and into the Luangwa river. Luangwa river borders North Luangwa on one side, the Muchinga escarpment on the other.
