Wildlife in Africa
The Roan is an roan-coloured antelope that is found both in West Africa, in Central Africa, in Southern Africa and in Eastern Africa.
This antelope lives on savannahs and grasslands, where water is available.

Mozambique spitting cobras are fairly small snakes mesuring 1 - 1,5 m and are common in savannahs throughout Africa.
Due to the aggressive behavior and venomous bite, this snake is considered to be very dangerous.

Kafue river
Kafue River has its source near the Congo (DRC) border and flows through a wilderness of swamps, seasonal floodplains and hilly terrain before it finally joins with the Zambezi river. On the way it passes through several wildlife areas, among them the Lukanga Swamp and the Kafue Flats.

Kafue National Park |

Short history:
Before 1924: The Kafue area is the traditional hunting grounds of the Nkoya people, while the Rhodesia territory is controlled by the British South Africa Company.
1924: Kafue national park is established in Northern Rhodesia (todays Zambia).
